This is a genuine sunken treasure coin from the Hollandia, sunk in 1743, with COA No 788

Condition – Considering they have been submerged in sea salt water for 282 years they are in remarkable condition with almost no actual wear to the coins they do have some signs of salt water damage as can be seen in the photos

This coin was purchased by me some 12 years ago from my EX Private client / collector who acquired them direct from the W H Lane auction sale on 21/09/1973 along with other 8 reales coins from the sale, the coin comes with the original certificate issued by W H Lane, these  8 reales sunken treasure coins i have for sale have not been on the market 47 years,

The Hollandia, a ship of the Dutch East India Company, on the night of 13 July 1743. During her maiden voyage from Texel in the Netherlands to Batavia (Indonesia) struck Gunner Rock in the Scilly Isles. All 276 crewmen and 30 passengers died in the sinking. The wreck of the Hollandia was located by Rex Cowan in 1971. Over the subsequent years some 35,000 silver coins along with numerous other artefacts have been recovered from the remains of the ship, A significant portion of the recovered coins and artefacts were sold via auction by W H Lane & Son of Penzance, Cornwall, on 21 September 1973.
